Sestriere is a convenient, snow sure resort.

With a base altitude of over 2000 metres and slopes that rise majestically to over 2800 metres Sestriere is justifiably known as a resort which has a wonderful historical snow record over a very long season from November to May.

A forecast of rain up to 2000 metres in Morzine means rain right to the top of the ski slopes. In Sestriere the forecast means fresh powder to play in all the way down to the resort!

Sestriere was one of The Alps’ first purpose built resorts and as such everything is incredibly convenient. Designed by the original owner of the Fiat car company, as you would expect the airport transfer from Turin could not be easier with fantastic roads right into the resort.

On your arrival you will first see the classic “front de neige” style of resort where the end of the piste meets the resorts bars, shops, restaurants and hotels meaning everything is right on your doorstep

Though Sestriere does not have the natural beauty of a traditional, Alpine resort the architecture is never as brutalistic as some other modern, purpose built resorts and the guarantee of good snow cover gives the place an attractive if not pretty image.

Sestriere Apres Ski

As you would expect from an Italian resort the on slope restaurants and mountain huts offer a great choice of traditional and contemporary Italian cuisine from the perfect pizza to the wonderful fresh pasta, all washed down with a glass of wine of a refreshing beer!

After your day on the slopes Sestriere offers a good range of bars to sit back and discuss the days events. From lively, slopes side bars to sports bar showing all the latest football and rugby events to sophisticated cocktail bars Sestriere has something for everyone without ever feeling like the party is too in your face.

Skiing and snowboarding

The slopes at Sestriere are very extensive stretching across the 3 ski resorts of Sestriere, Sauze d’oulx and Sansicario, giving you a real sense of travel and exploration. The slopes best suit mileage hungry intermediates who will want to clock up as many of the 300km of pistes as possible during their short break and the mountain is not without challenge for those looking for thrills with heli skiing available here. Furthermore, Sestriere is an excellent place to learn to take your first turns given the superb quality of the snow and the gentle nursery slopes right next to the resort.
