Courmayeur is the perfect resort to enjoy a short break or long weekend in The Italian Alps.
A very short transfer from Geneva airport will take you through the Mont Blanc tunnel near Chamonix at the end of which you will emerge into the charming , traffic free cobbled streets in the centre of this picturesque resort.
With a huge array of shops, bars, restaurants and night spots to cater for all tastes you will quickly settle into the relaxing village ambiance which certainly has a feeling of lively, chic sophistication, particularly in the evening when people promenade in their finery and then settle in one of the many high quality restaurants to enjoy the very best of Italian cuisine
Skiing and snowboarding in Courmayeur
On the mountain you will find a small, but perfectly formed ski area offering pistes to suit all ability and experience levels, on great snow due to Courmayeur’s own “snow pocket” micro climate said to be due to its proximity to Monte Bianco, (Mont Blanc) which towers majestically over the village.
For the more adventurous there is the incredible “Skyway Monte Bianco”, a brand new cable car opened in 2016 which offers remarkable views of the surrounding mountains as it continuously turns 360 degrees and climbs up to a dizzying altitude of 3500m to deliver you on to the world famous Mont Blanc Massif glaciers. From here you can take in the amazing views, have a drink in the cafe or a meal in the wonderful restaurant and then return to the base or hire a guide and tackle the awesome off piste on the Vallee Blanche ending in Chamonix!
